I have been a child therapist for over 28 years. I use various techniques which are considered helpful to children with emotional/behavioral issues I also work with adults who are struggling with Mental Health and/or Substance Abuse problems. I believe that all individuals have the tools within to heal themselves and that healing is an ongoing journey in our lives. Those who have had the opportunity to go to counseling often live a full and enriched life because they have learned how to activate those inner resources. I would love to help you or your child on the path to discovering those resources. I work with individuals from age 3 and up. With children I use non-verbal techniques which are based in play and creativity, the language of children. I also have training in Mindfulness and Psychotherapy which has been recognized as one of the most effective tools used in therapy. I base treatment decisions on each person's special circumstances. In my work with people who have substance abuse problems I focus on an understanding of the brain and how addiction changes the brain. There are many models of treating Substance Use Disorders, and I will use any that works for the individual.
