I have a background working with clients with substance use disorders and those carrying trauma from their past. Sometimes the brain can become stuck in survival mode because it is doing what it thinks is best for you. I believe that by having a safe place to compassionately explore the things we keep inside, it can open up the doorway to healing and allow the brain to shift from a state of survival to one of thriving. I have a strong interest in working with neurodiverse clients (those on the spectrum and/or with ADHD) and plan to continue working more with this population going forward. I have a strong background in REBT and attachment theory. However, my overall approach is more eclectic in nature. I'm always sharing tidbits about the brain including why the reactions you may believe make you "crazy" actually make a lot of sense once you know what's going on in your brain! I believe everyone deserves healing. I believe everyone deserves a safe space to do the tough work that healing requires.
