I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with over twenty years of experience. I work at Waypoint Counseling & Wellness, a counseling group based in Monona. I specialize in working with LGBTQIA2S+ clients, those with persistent mental illness, and clients with dual diagnosis. Additionally, I have extensive knowledge in working with clients with anxiety and depression, substance use disorders, and personality disorders. I have additional expertise working with individuals facing legal issues, incarceration, or recently discharged from an incarceration. I am passionate about helping clients heal from difficult experiences and develop healthy patterns and tools to manage symptoms. My approach in therapy is client centered, I believe it is important for clients to move at a pace that is right and safe for them. I value creating a non-judgmental and safe therapeutic relationship with clients. I have additional training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Moral Recognitioning, and Crisis Interventions. I utilize strategies from Dialectical Behavior Therapy and mindfulness based interventions.
