I believe that therapy is about optimization and self-understanding, not just crisis care. I applaud those that take the initiative to attend counseling, and I believe that all of us can greatly benefit from having a unique relationship with a competent, empathetic counselor that we work well with. The core of how I practice is informed by the Person Centered approach, which means a major focus is the therapeutic alliance. All of the work we do together is greatly benefitted by developing and maintaining a strong client-counselor relationship.
