“Beloved community is formed not by the eradication of difference but by its affirmation, by each of us claiming the identities and cultural legacies that shape who we are and how we live in the world.” [― bell hooks, Killing Rage: Ending Racism.] In my practice, I follow a humanistic and client-centered approach. I am currently working towards certification in EMDR, and strive to be trauma-informed and social-justice oriented. My focus is in depression, anxiety, disordered eating, LGBT+ issues, ADHD, Autism, and I work with adults, adolescents, and occasionally children on a case-by-case basis. I most closely use Experiential therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), as well as Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) with partnerships and families. Additionally, I have a weight-neutral practice that is committed to Health At Every Size. I have learned that healing and growth is our right, and that joy is an act of resistance. We can achieve healing and growth by connecting with our inner-worlds, honoring our wants and needs, and growing confidence in our self-efficacy.
