Starting to see a counselor can be a scary thing, and no matter who you are, requires immense bravery. I believe we all have a collection of stories that make up who we are, and counseling should feel like a safe space to share that story. Having been in the client seat myself, I believe that in order to create a safe space for those stories to be heard, clients have to feel respected and important in a non-judgemental, confidential space. I am honored to hear each one of my client's stories and I cannot wait to hear yours! As a mental health counselor, I use an eclectic approach, meaning I draw from multiple counseling approaches to best meet the needs of each unique client. The approaches I use most include Person-Centered Theory, Narrative Theory, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). My passion is helping clients make new meaning from their life experiences. My counseling style tends to be more laid back, focusing heavily on conversations and storytelling. I am currently seeing new clients at offices in both Brookfield and Oconomowoc, and I would love to connect to hear more about your needs.
